Service Description

Juniors London Bridge Swim Adventure The Juniors London Bridge Swim Adventure is a highlight of our junior open-water programme and a key part of their summer OWS experience. This session adapts our classic London Bridge route specifically for younger swimmers, offering an exciting challenge suitable for all abilities. Juniors can complete the full swim distance, enjoy sections from the support boat, or mix the two — ensuring every participant achieves success and enjoys the adventure. There is the opportunity to swim the entire route, covering approximately 1km to 1.5km, depending on the line taken. This represents the distance from the starting point to the swim’s central feature, London Bridge, which all juniors will reach one way or another. The goal is to create a memorable and confidence-building open-water experience with a focus firmly on enjoyment. What to Expect This adventure is much more than a swim. Every junior has a seat on the boat, and we make full use of the boats to support, transport, and enable swimmers to participate at the right level for them. Along the way, juniors will enjoy: - Spectacular coastal scenery - Supervised cliff jumps - Guided exploration through coastal caves - The shared highlight of swimming through the London Bridge arch We aim to pass through the arch as a group to create a truly special moment and shared experience. Location & Schedule The adventure begins at Meadfoot Beach, near the café, dive centre and toilets. Parking is available in the pay-and-display car park at the opposite end of the beach (around a ten-minute walk), with additional street parking nearby. We meet at the top of the slipway for a full briefing, which parents and guardians are encouraged to hear. At this point, we will also indicate the best viewing points along the route for supporters. We will store a hot drink for each swimmer on the boat, and we carry first aid equipment, warm blankets and can securely stow any required medication. After reaching the London Bridge arch, juniors will have time to enjoy the rocks, jump into the sea under supervision and spend time playing in and around the water. We then regroup for hot chocolate before taking the boat back to Meadfoot. Participants will enter and exit the water throughout the session. We aim to return to the slipway at 16:00.
