Service Description

Escape to the Ore Stone is one of South Devon's most memorable adventure swims. Challenge yourself while enjoying spectacular scenery, with the reassurance of an experienced support team by your side—every stroke of the way. Your adventure begins at Meadfoot Beach before swimming out and boarding our support boat for the short journey to the wild seaward side of the Ore Stone. From there, you'll enter the water and swim to the hidden sea cave beneath the rock. When conditions are perfect—requiring calm seas and a low spring tide—you'll be guided through this remarkable cave before beginning your escape back to the mainland. Strong tidal currents mean timing is everything, making this a rewarding swim that combines adventure, navigation and teamwork. The standard route is approximately 2km, finishing at Hope's Nose, although stronger swimmers can continue back to Meadfoot Beach, making the total distance around 4km. 📍 Escape to the Ore Stone 📅 18th July 2026 ⏰ Meet at Meadfoot Beach: 15:30 🌊 Low Spring Tide: 16:00 Swim Route Start: Swim from Meadfoot Beach to the support boat.
