JUNIORS
Our junior section is for children aged 8 to 16. We follow the progression pathway set out by Swim England. When a swimmer graduates to the next level, a certificate is awarded for the achievement. At one end of the spectrum, the level one swimmers learn a basic skill set for open water whilst at the top end, the level three juniors are preparing to race. We aim to expose open water specific skills and support the juniors as they explore how best to apply their knowledge.
PeteWilbyTriathlOn coaches using a holistic perspective. We have skilled staff who are trained beach lifeguards, first aiders and qualified coaches and teachers. The junior course is both theory and practical (land and sea) to include safety and lifesaving considerations which enhance the swimmers awareness of the risks associated with open water swimming. We gear the juniors with the key open water swimming skills to take forward into adulthood, apply to other open water sports and confidently compete in open water swimming and triathlon events.
To complement the juniors hard work, in 2021, we have also organised a junior swim adventure. On this adventure all levels will challenge their skills, cover a longer distance, make fiends and have lots of fun jumping off rocks and peering into hidden caves.
